Its just different terminology, but has same meaning. IE- when I was a kid in elementary school, the term "going around" was used alot. Oh gawd I can remember how me and this one boy used to tell everyone in our 4th grade class we were "going around" Too cute. As for myself when in the position of seeing or regular dating I discuss manogamy with my partner so there isn't confusion.
Are they the same thing? If I'm seeing someone exclusively, I'll say just that: I'm seeing someone exclusively.
Otherwise, I'm still free. That they are exclusive or not. Bottom line, if it is ever a question, why not just ask about it? Wouldn't it be a wonderful world if everyone could just grow up and be honest and upfront about what they are doing! Seeing someone could also mean your not so much in a relationship as you are being exclusive to them to "see" where it goes Seeing someone also means you no longer want to date others and just "see" that one person only Dating is going out with different people.
Better to discuss it and decide if you're both exclusive or not, IMO. To answer your question, dating someone means I'm dating them, but not exclusively. If I'm exclusive with someone I'm in a 'relationship' with them. Someone with a more looser term of it would see the dating thing as just going around.
I suppose really and truely if you are seeing what is out there, you are dating - no commitment as yet. If you are seeing 1 person, then it is as the name implies. Well at least I think so!

Seeing someone means you can See others too Maybe someone needs to just pass a law that this term means this I make it clear when with someone I dont "see" people. I date only cause I dont have time or energy to play those "seeing" games!!!!
However, if you are speaking of someone specific - just ask them! Dating for me is going out and meeting new people on a regular basis and sometimes meeting up with the same people a couple of times to hang out and have a good time.
When I'm seeing someone, we are in a relationship leading to or already involved in something long term, which means I'm no longer dating. Or those lucky enough to be dating the invisible who walk among us unseen, and naked. You notice them mostly on crowded subways and in elevators. I guess the definitions click the following article either dating or seeing someone vary from person to person.
Though I do not 'date' this man anymore I still 'see' him from time to time. He's made it clear that he doesn't date exclusively, and I have no problem with that. I 'see' other men and he 'sees' other women, and we 'see' each other when it suits us, but we don't date So I've had numerous source on this topic with both men and women, and both responses are the opposite.
IMO, I think its the same thing. OP, I tend to agree with the opinion of "seeing" someone implies exclusive yet dating is just dating. To me, they're the same.
But it's not whether you're seeing someone exclusive it's what meaning you get from those terms, when someone says to you i'm seeing someone or i'm dating someone, what impression do you get from that term!
Dating depends on the way it's used if you're interested in dating someone, you're looking to go out and meet others But in describing a relationship, seeing means it's not that serious while dating seems to imply an actual relationship But I totally just counterargumented my first statement. Anyone who's that hung up on the detailed semantics of "seeing" vs "dating" is way too anal-retentive for me to be interested in dating anyway, so this web page really doesn't matter!
Gosh, to me dating and seeing someone are the same thing I agree with the guys. OP, 'seem to think' is another way of saying 'assume' I would say they are the same thing, but then I am a monogomous sort of guy.
Seeing someone implies a relationship and dating can mean casual dating or someone that you are in an exclusive relationship with, perhaps still fairly early on when one does not necessarily automatically respond with boyfriend or girlfriend when continue reading inquires about the individual they have seen you with or about whom you are speaking.
I think you bring up a good point. For me, I would take it to be more serious if someone uses the term "dating" someone. I have always used the term seeing someone when I dont want someone to think its serious. You could be right about this possibly interfering with relationships. This is a perfect example of why communication is important in relationships.
Dating Expressions: Exclusive, Going Out, Seeing Each Other
Both seem pretty non-commital to me. I see dating as exclusive I agree - I see a difference between the two - exactly as you stated. Nope, that's pretty much the way I look at it. There's also "talking" to someone considering datingand "with" someone total exclusivity and serious relationship - cutting all others off.
The only way to be sure the person YOU are interested in agrees with how you see it is to talk it through. No communication sets you up for surprises.
Girls thought the opposite of guys. In Italy seeing someone is going out or courting that someone and is casual. But since I do write about dating They go out on dates regularly with the person that they are seeing.
It means two different things to me Not for blind people. Well, I use to think that dating was the prelude to becoming an exclusive relationship, but I met someone who dated me a few times and wanted us to be exclusive or just me as it turns outbecause while I 'dated' him exclusively, he was 'SEEING' other women at the same time.
