Yes to all of them, though I think the same name as my brothers would be weirder, since it's not like I call my dad by his first name. Lol, yeah, the first time I considered it, it was weird, but the cuteness of the boy helped me get over that real quick. This seems like the best solution to reconcile the weirdness with what is relatively trivial a name. He turned out to be an awful person, so the relationship didn't last long, but my brother was very adamant about not being called a particular nickname to his full name, so I just called the boyfriend that.
That's how I feel.
Kids Tell Their Parents A Long-Held Secret
Last week I was out with some friends. One of them was being hit on by a guy who left when he found out she had the same name as his mom. I really don't understand that reasoning. That would be really weird for me. Unless he went by some sort of nickname that was completely different.
I thought it was weird at first when we started dating, now it's like whatever. He had the same name as my dad and brother. I probably would have dated someone with my father's name, since I don't have any negative feelings attached to the name.
His name mostly used by the baby boomer generation, and I was only interested in Gen X guys around my own age, so it Dating Someone With Your Dads Name unlikely that would actually happen. I had a really bad relationship with my brother so I highly doubt I would have dated anybody with that name, there were too many bad feelings.
His name doesn't seem common either. It was used somewhat for later Gen X or earlier Millennial lower-middle and middle-class white people in the Northeastern US there were some at our high school but seems uncommon elsewhere. I met someone with a very common name who wasn't originally from my area, but not a name any of my relatives had.
I was talking to someone that has the same name as one of my brothers Turned out he was an enormous asshole I wouldn't say it's shallow. I really, really dislike one of my brothers. He's rude, obnoxious, disrespectful, constantly tries to make my little sister feel awful about herself, and generally doesn't seem to give a damn about anybody but himself.
I could be friends with a man who shares the name. But I'm not sure I could date one unless I had extremely strong feelings for him, and he didn't go by the same nickname, and he didn't read more resemble my brother at all.
But it would take some self-restraint because my brother's name has a pop-culture joke associated with it and I realize I shouldn't shout that joke at my SO. Even though they're deceased, I think it'd be too weird. Fortunately, the situation has never come up. It would likely be a little offputting, but if he was a great guy I wouldn't let it ruin things. Her brother has the same name as me.
Don't think it bothered her but she was a strange one. That would be okay if the guy had my brother's name, as my brother is a fantastic human being, but I've already spent lots of time thinking about the possibility of dating someone with my father's name one day. I read article I just wouldn't be able to do it.
What’s In A Name? The Dating Dealbreaker I Decided To Move Past
Unless he had some sort of nickname that was very different from his name, it wouldn't work. My father was abusive all my life and I cringe just by meeting random people with the same name as his. Like other people are saying, I usually call my dad "Dad", so it wouldn't be too weird dating a guy with his name I guess I could consider it if I really liked the guy, but I'd definitely have to call the boyfriend by a different nickname, or just by his normal name.
I probably would have dated someone with my father's name, since I don't have any negative feelings attached to the name. Jul 17, 9. I have been same name as my brother. It is a bit weird, but not sufficiently so to be any kind of a big deal. My ex has the same name as my brother and my brother's ex has the same name as me Damn my parents for picking such popular names in the late 80s!
I would date someone with my parent's name, since they are mum or dad for me, not their names.
I wouldn't date anyone with my brother's name. That would feel strange. My brother and dad have the same name. I couldn't even court a character in Harvest Moon with the same name as my brother, too weird for me. Might be complicated by the fact that he's special needs though.
My dad's sister and my mom have the same name. My stepbro's mom and sister have the same name and for a while he dated a girl with that name. And he's currently dating someone who has the same name as me. My brother and my dad both have the same name. The only thing weirder than dating someone with their name is that fact that I've never even met someone around my age who has that name, which is really quite common--Michael.
Dating Someone With Your Dads Name think I could do it without a problem. I still think I could manage it without a problem. Currently engaged to someone with the same name as my brother.
People act like it's learn more here weird when they first realize it; but I honestly never think about it, unless I'm in the same place as both of them.
My guess is that anything about a significant other can only be detrimental to your relationship if you let it be. It'd be weird if it was my brother's name, because it's not a very common one. Nicknames are a thing. I used to have a crush on a guy with the same name as my brother and literally never thought about it until a friend brought it up. Not my fault that my brother has a super common name. That would be weird but I don't know that I would turn someone down for that reason alone.
I laughed so hard when I found out my boyfriend's mom had the same name as me. He tried to avoid telling me because he thought it might make things weird. Yes, even though I had an unofficial "rule" about it beforehand. There have been some awkward slips of the tongue, but it's been fine. It makes for some funny miscommunications! I'd date a woman with the same name as my sister, I guess, my best friend already has that name. Yeah, because his name is common, I don't call him by his first name, and literally Dating Someone With Your Dads Name one more info calls him by his first name either.
God that sounds gross.
